If you lived in Marblehead in late summer 2001, you know the exact rhythm of a Tuesday morning in mid-September. The heavy summer crowds had thinned out, the kids were back in school, and the harbor was settling into that quiet, crisp transition before the real New England autumn sets in.
There is a distinct kind of magic that happens right around late summer. The rhythm of the days begins to shift, fresh notebooks appear on desks, and the promise of a new church year starts to take shape. This season, my calendar has one date circled in bright ink: Sunday, September 13th, 2026.
